Gabriel Nunez

Gabriel Nunez joined the R Fund team at Rutgers Athletics in August of 2019 as an Assistant Director of Development for Premium Seating and Leadership Giving. In this capacity, Nunez excelled in fostering and strengthening relationships with dedicated Rutgers Athletics supporters, working closely with donors to align their passion with Rutgers' strategic fundraising priorities. His dedication and expertise led to his promotion to Associate Director of Development for Major Gifts in August of 2023.

Prior to Rutgers, Nunez honed his development skills at Stanford University, where he served as an Account Executive in the Athletics Department. At Stanford, he played a pivotal role in the Buck/Cardinal Club’s Priority Seat Expansion campaign, an initiative that enhanced seating options while driving increased engagement across nine sports. Through innovative approaches to pricing and donor contributions, Nunez helped generate an additional $2 million in revenue — a major success for the department. This experience provided him with valuable insights into maximizing athletic support and deepened his expertise in donor relations.

Nunez began his career in collegiate athletics at the University of Louisiana at Monroe as a Ticket Sales Consultant, later moving to the University of North Texas as a Senior Sales and Service Consultant, where he honed his skills in donor engagement and revenue growth.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from Florida State University and a master’s in communication and media from the Rutgers School of Communication and Information. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Nunez now resides in Bayonne, N.J.
