PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 16, 2020) – We have experienced injustice and unrest, all amid the devastation and loss caused by a global pandemic. We know that many in our community mourn for those taken by disease and violence. We mourn with you.
Rutgers University has and will continue to make a positive impact on global health, social justice and developing the minds of leaders and catalysts of hope. On Rutgers Giving Day – Wednesday, June 17 – the Scarlet Knights ask you to join us in helping Rutgers change the world. In the face of extraordinary difficulty, just as we do on our fields of play, we can make a difference together as a team.
All gifts to Rutgers Athletics on Giving Day will be wide-reaching; empowering the next generation of leaders, supporting the researchers who are working to stop COVID-19, giving back to a school or program that empowered you to make change in the world.
If you are not able to make a gift, but want to show your support, spread the word about how others can make a difference using #RUGivingDay, or take part in challenges throughout the day.
In the spirit of sport, Rutgers Athletics is participating in a Giving Day Challenge. A leaderboard will track the top four programs with the highest number of donors to receive an additional $8K, $5K, $2.5K and $1K, respectively.
The Athletics competition will be one of numerous social media challenges throughout the day to help direct award money to an area at Rutgers you find most meaningful.
Rutgers Athletics teamed up for a record-breaking Giving Day in 2019 and raised more than the previous two years combined – eclipsing $300,000.
Season ticket holders' gifts made on Giving Day will be included in their priority point totals for the 2020-21 football, basketball and wrestling seasons.
Thank you for helping Rutgers help the world when the world needs it most.
